You can apply for a Passport either in Online or Offline. While both the process have same value, but in this article we will discuss about Online process.
Online Payment can be made using any one of the following modes:
Documents required
- Proof for date of birth and citizenship.
- A HR certificate on the letterhead, or a Bonafide Certificate from the School/College.
- Electricity bill, Gas connection bill, Telephone bill or Water bill in your name with a valid address proof.
- Bank account statement, Voter ID card.
- In case of a married person, one can attach spouse’s passport copy and in case of a bachelor, one can attach parent’s passport copy.
How to apply
- At first Register on Passport Seva Online portal (Click on Register)
- Login with created Id and Password on Passport Seva Online portal
- Click on "Apply for Background Verification for GEP"
- Fill the required information in the form and submit
- Click the "Pay and Schedule Appointment" link on the "View Saved/Submitted Applications" screen to schedule an appointment.
- Online Payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at all Passport Seva Kendras/Passport Offices.
- Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa)
- Internet Banking (State Bank of India (SBI) and Associate Banks and Other Banks)
- Click the "Print Application Receipt" link to print the application receipt containing Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number.
- Visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK)/Regional Passport Office (RPO) where appointment has been booked, along with original documents.
